Kitchen 24

Outside, Front Entrance
3 o'clock in the morning and hungry? Kitchen 24 is a diner/bar that is open 24 hours, 7 days a week (the only exception being Tuesday's from 4am-9am for cleaning, big whoop!) Classic 50's diner set-up with the booth and stool bar seating. The difference is that bar seating is actually hooked up to a full bar. The bar is open from 6pm-2am. Some cool features include a large array of candies for sale beneath the hostess' stand, and light fixtures made out of cutlery!

Chocolate Chip Cookie w/
Vanilla Ice Cream

Food wise they serve your typical diner food. One thing I would suggest would be the desserts. I had the chocolate chip cookie served in a skillet topped with vanilla ice cream. The cookie was gooey and extremely warm, offering that loved contrast of temperatures against the ice cream.

The staff working that evening was extremely friendly which helped make for a fun environment. It was a shame that I had eaten just before I went here because I was interested in trying more of an "entree dish" but there is always next time. But the atmosphere and the fact that is is open 24 hours does make it quite the swanky hangout.

Geisha House

View from the Second Story
Love sushi? Who doesn't? Need an impressive date spot to take the new lady friend? Geisha House is your spot. Located near the fun corner of Hollywood and Highland, you will find this amazing restaurant. The atmosphere is to die for. It is two stories with a two leveled fireplace that is erected in the middle of the main dining room. Dining here tends to run a bit pricey but is worth every penny. Service is great, we even had the hostess offer us suggestions for dessert after we ate. The crowd ranges from varies types, but everyone is well dressed and looks 100% swanky.
Magura Mango

I ordered the Magura Mango which is thinly sliced tuna topped with cubed mango and mango chile sauce. The mango's have a sweet and spicy kick to them that made it quite tasty. And as you can see by the picture the plating was spectacular. The one roll I would definitely recommend would be the Red Samurai which is spicy tuna, cucumber, topped with avocado, tuna, grape tomatoes, serano peppers with a light vinaigrette. If you like spicy and tuna, this is one of the best sushi rolls I've ever had. Light yet flavorful. And the Over the Rainbow Roll is just a traditional rainbow roll. But do not get me wrong when I say "just a traditional rainbow roll", the reason being, this was the greatest rainbow roll. It had something to do with the California roll it was built upon.
Red Samuri, Tokyo Breeze, and
Over the Rainbow Roll
(Listed Back to Front)

One negative I have to point out is that parking around Geisha House is difficult. There is valet out front for $10, or you can park in the Hollywood/Highland parking structure and walk the 3 block distance.

Wurstkuche

Front Entrance to the Swanky Getaway
Looking for amazing sausages, while still being in a classy, hip environment? Then Wurstkuche is your place. With over 20 mouthwatering sausages you cannot go wrong. I came here last night with my girlfriend for our two month anniversary, this was my second time visiting. We got one Mango Jalepeno Sausage (Chicken &Turkey) with the sweet peppers and caramelized onions, one Sundried Tomato and Mozzarella Sausage (Smoked Chicken & Turkey) with the sweet peppers and caramelized onions, and one Duck and Bacon Jalepeno Sausage with the sauerkraut and sweet peppers. The sausages were amazing! Even better was the side. A large order of Belgian Fries with a "Blue Cheese Candied Walnut and Bacon" dipping sauce and "Chipotle Ketchup". If you go you must get the fries, and I highly suggest the Blue Cheese dipping sauce. To top it all of we got a Cinnamon Apple Pie ice cream sandwich served between two oatmeal raisin cookies. To die for.

The environment is totally swanky with a live DJ, and a bar. There is a huge beer selection on tap, making it arguably known as a Gastropub. Majority of the crowd is younger ranging from their early twenties to thirties. You order at the front, get a number, and sit down in a back portion of the restaurant where a waiter will bring you your food. Kitchen is open from 11am-12pm 7 days a week,        and the bar is open until 2am.

Check it out for a Swanky Epicurean Delight.
